v12 like a fast car.

Beyond Fringe becoming a company that creates a caring community both for our customers and for our employees, I have two major goals for Fringe’s continued success and growth.

First is to be invited onto the YouTube show Hot Ones. I feel like I do well with spicy food, but people on that show freaking melt. I’d like to see how I’d stack up.

Second is to ride a sweet classic scrambler motorcycle out 84 to Pescadero, and then up 1, through San Francisco, ending in one of my favorite spots in the world – Proof Lab in Mill Valley, CA. I can already feel the satisfaction of that ride commemorating Fringe becoming what we hope it to be.

With that ride in mind, I asked the team this week to hit me with their favorite cruise tunes. You may be driving a car, riding a bike, pushing a scooter, walking, running, or not moving at all, but there’s something special about a tune that hits just right when you’re on the move.

Remember when you were a kid in the backseat of your parent’s car, headphones on, forehead on the window feeling like you were the main character in some movie? Well I’ve been trying for years to shed this adulthood vibe and get back to that level of cinematic comfort.

Maybe these tunes will help us get there.

Till next time 🤙🏻

The Homies:

1. Abby Kramer
Medical Business Development and Community Spotlight.
Song: Black Pumas – Colors
Awesome feel good road trip vibes.

2. Jake Means
Marketing Coordination and Robot Fighting.
Song: Parcels – Everyroad
I love this song because it reminds me of a 3 hour drive from Tacoma, WA to Leavenworth, WA with my buddy Anthony for Oktoberfest. The town is perpetually themed for the event, but we were getting to see it at its prime. It did not let down. Leavenworth is a rock climbing mecca as well, so that was cool. Plus, I love the slow build up throughout the song to the eventual BREAKDOWN at the end.

3. Thomas Buxton
Marketing Activations Manager
Song: Allstar Weekend – Do It 2 Me
If we are cruising, I like the idea of an upbeat tempo and this song just stood out this week as a good submission.

4. Heather Cantor
A dear homie
Song: Red Hot Chili Peppers – Californication
A windows down, music up, world out, take the long way home kinda jam!

5. Alyson Evans
CoCEO & Founder

Song: Led Zeppelin – What is And What Should Never Be
Road music is, and always has been Led Zeppelin.

6. Abby Kramer
Medical Business Development and a whole lot more.
Song: John Mayer – Love on the Weekend
Cruise on into weekend vibes with this jam. Great for road trips or chill vibes!

7. Heather Manning
Director of Creative and Brand

Song: Goody Grace – Used To Be
Good song, enough said – just listen.

8. Michael Sierra
Video and Creative

Song: The Black Keys – Crawling Kingsnake
Cause Rock ‘n Roll will never die!

9. Genevieve Newton
Scientific Research Director
Song: Tom Cochrane – Life is a Highway
From 1991, when I was 16. A bit of a life anthem.

10. Michael Benavidez
Fringe Representative – Texas
Song: Lionel Richie – All Night Long
You wanna talk about getting into a groove and cruising down the highway to your next camping spot>>>>this is a must on the driving playlist.  Good vibes all around. Honorable mention to On the Road Again by Willie Nelson

11. Joe LaVacca
Lead Educator
Song: Milky Chance – Colorado
Take these on those back roads to a good trail my friend.  I’m a big Milky Chance fan, especially when he writes a song that also reminds me more of my fiancé (big wink face).

12. Jill Magee
Fringe Representative – Wisconsin and Minnesota
Song: The Score – Unstoppable
With one month left in a very tough year for so many I want to keep my mindset on being unstoppable. I want us all to remember we write the story of our life. We narrate how we see things and we could easily just coast this month or we can rise up and create amazing things as we confidently go into this next year and chapter of our lives. We are unstoppable.

13. Jillian Thomas
Fringe Representative – Oregon
Song: Bad Bad Hats – Detroit Basketball
The song is upbeat, catchy, and very “cruise-worthy.”  And about a girl getting out of a cruddy relationship, which feels liberating.

14. Anthony Caligaris
CoCEO & Co-Founder
Song: Little Hurricane – Upside of Down
I could have picked any song from these guys. They’re like if you took Shovels & Rope (also a husband and wife duo) and moved them to SoCal so they could hang out with Jon Foreman from Switchfoot. But they didn’t loose the rough grizzle.

15. Aaron Patterson
Fringe Representative – Kansas and Missouri
Song: Glass Animals – Heat Waves
The music has a very chill and down to earth feel. It’s a song I want to listen to when getting ready for a Friday night.

Anthony is convinced that there’s a better way. A better way to work, a better way to manage, and a better way to live. After 10 years pretending to be a sales dude, Anthony has spent the last 5 in management roles refining his perspective on how an organization should function.

Excited to combine his background in economics with his desire for commerce to do good, Anthony is looking forward to Fringe creating a new business model focused on doing the right thing.
